Wednesday: http://www.deltaradio.de/delta/musik/interviews/index.html ON AIR:22.01.2010 Here's a transcript of the interview: 1: Heartagram – the story behind it: “The Heartagram – oh yes, the story isn’t that miraculou. I was just sitting there and drawing without thinking about it. I liked the symbol of White Zombie. Rock Zombie created it and somehow it belongs to Rock too. And I just liked the idea of having a symbol for the band. We didn’t think a lot about it, just put the logo on the covers of our albums and that was it. It’s very flattering. But it would be even more flattering if people saved their money to buy our albums instead of dowloading them illegally from the internet. Let’s say it’s the 2nd best compliment. 2: Are you excited about the new album? I’m super excited about the new album. It’s the best we ever made. It’s the most understandable. It’s a feeling like there’s this super big party going on in the streets and you ask: may I join? And they say: Yes, you may! And then you just stay there forever. It’s this special atmoshphere like David Lynch throwing a birthday party. I’m really glad the album is finished, after all we invested a lot of time into that. I’m happy like a kid in the candy store. 3. How did you approach the album? I think the best thing you learn when you’ve been in a band for such a long time is that you when you have to let things go. We have worked our asses off to make the songs. Even a 3 minute song took months. There’s so many small things that we worked on like a change of speed or a change of sounds. That’s very important but at some point you just have to let go and see where the music takes you and We had real fun and than the album was finished and that was ist. 4: are there any limits concerning the lyrics? No, this album is very direct. This album ist very direct, poetic and symbolic. I’ve always liked that.. I’m a fan of Black Sabbath, for example. Their lyrics aren’t easy to undertand. You have to think about it and imagine the story behing it. Everything is real and there’s a story beghin every text. The listener must be able to create their own story out of their heads. Honesty is an important point. I never liked songs about money or girls. That’s too direkt, like “I was wearing these red socks and met this girl and her name is ….”, that’s crap. I’m not interested in “diary songs”. I want to hear about experiences like my own. “Everybody Hurts” by REM is a great song, for example, because everybody’s been hurt, but in a different way. And when you hear such song you think of your own story and how you’ve been hurt. 5: Do you work on your voice? I think it just happens by singing. And then I quit drinking about 2 ½ years ago and try to smoke less. At the moment I’m a bit nervous. The album is finished and soon many people are going to hear it. We’ve worked so hard and we’ve delivered our baby and then I smoke even more – stupid explanation ;). I think touring is good because you use your voice a lot than but then I just let it out and have fun doing that and that’s what I’ve been doing for many years, just letting go a bit more. 6: You’ve been in the music business for 15 years now. Looking back would you like to change anything? I have no regrets whatsoever. We’ve been lucky cos when we started out we’d been playing in several bands before and knew what we wanted. We only did 2 demos before we got our record deal. Everything went super fast but we also worked our asses of for the success. Everything went so well and I think you have to make mistakes. You must write the bad songs to be able to recognise the good ones. I would probable change some things in my private life but all the mistakes and the bad experiences were and are important for my development and the development of the band, respectively. We couldn’t have written this album without the previous album and the one before and the one before.

Сейчас я немного нервничаю. Альбом закончен и скоро многие его услышат. Мы тяжело работали и теперь, когда произвели ребенка на свет, я стал курить даже больше - глупое объяснение;) Я думаю, туры это хорошо, поскольку вы много работаете голосом но потом я часто спускаю все на тормозах и веселюсь и это то, чем я занимался многие годы...

Конечно, за 2 года воспоминания притупились, но мне кацца в прошлый раз Вильямс с меньшим энтузиазмом это говорил

Но вот у меня такое впечатление, что на этот раз ВВ действительно очень и очень сатисфайд... может у него сейчас такой момент в жизни...когда у него все получается, он радуется всему что сейчас у него происходит...поэтому такой энтузиазм и он реально доволен что альбом готов и ему он по душе, у него просто на какой-то момент его жизни внутреннее мироощущение совпало с внешним миром и поэтому он чувствует себя наконец-то спокойным умиротворенным довольным всем

Конечно мы хотим луну и звезды с неба, но не в наши руки. Мы сделали лучшее, что могли, и действительно гордимся тем, что создали, но теперь поклонники и публика будут нас оценивать".
